About

Cubisonic is an art installation in VR exploring an interactive architecture of color and sound shaped by visitors' movements.

Four colored cubes with unique soundtracks rest on a plane. As the viewer navigates, the cubes move in real time, blending sounds and colors in a shape-shifting architecture that generates a sound mix.

The artwork questions our ability to distinguish 2D and 3D spaces. It pushes boundaries for how art, architecture and synesthesia can be experienced in VR as an alternative to the dominance of first-person video games. It also asks: can this “spatial music mixer” be a new kind of music video that is more performative?
